FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
The San Antonio Northwest Rotary Club will host its 8th annual Art With a
Country Heart Auction for Any Baby Can, SA and other charities of Rotary, on
Saturday, October 1, 2011, at the historic Aztec Theater, 104 N. St. Maryʼs,
adjacent to the Riverwalk. This yearʼs charity event will feature the San Antonio
Rose Live Classic Country Music Show.
Doors will open at 5:30 pm for the VIP reception, with food/beverage service, and
a silent auction including a variety of fine art of local artists, leisure & sports
activities, travel excursions, luxury, and memorabilia items. Art will include works
by Raul Gutierrez, San Antonioʼs acclaimed western artist in residence and past
Texas Artist of the Year. A raffle for one of Mr. Gutierrezʼs artworks, valued at
$6,500, will occur at the event, also.
At 7:30 pm the San Antonio Rose Live show begins, featuring the best of
traditional country, western swing, and gospel music. "Itʼs a Texas-sized tribute to
classic country music; world-class entertainers and a world-class production."
Tickets for the event are $40 per person. The ticket price includes the VIP
reception with wine, cheese, hors dʼoeuvres, and other refreshments, as well as
admission to the Rotary silent auction and the San Antonio Rose Live Show.
For tickets and further information, contact Northwest Rotary at 210-576-5475, or
visit the club website at www.rotarynorthwest.com. Checks and credit card
charges will be made payable to the Northwest Rotary Foundation. A special
hotel room and show package is also available for those who are traveling from
out of town, or want to extend their stay in downtown San Antonio.
Proceeds from this event will benefit the local family services agency, Any Baby
Can, of SA, Inc., the Northwest Rotary Foundationʼs college scholarship fund,
and Rotary Internationalʼs various global initiatives, such as Polio Plus, Shelter
Box, 3-H, GSE, and Ambassadorial Scholarships. Over the years, many South
Texas residents have benefited from these programs.
